For Map:
What is high quality farmland?
The American Farmland Trust (AFT) combines two definitions: 1) land most suitable for producing food, feed, forage, fiber and oilseed crops (USDA definition of prime farmland); 2) land used to grow vegetables, grapes and horticultural crops, including fruits, nuts and berries, that have unique soil and climatic requirements (AFT definition of unique farmland).
