Luke Freeman
Luke Freeman
Horticulture Program Assistant

Luke Freeman joined the staff at the Kerr Center in June of 2011 after graduating from the University of Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with an emphasis in sustainable agriculture. While at the university, Luke participated in a campus composting project, interned on a two-acre vegetable farm in Fulton, Missouri, and worked with a program educating urban children about gardening and sustainable living. Luke and his wife now live in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

At the Kerr Center, Luke is working with George Kuepper to maintain and expand the horticultural programs on the farm. He is responsible for composting operations, developing a potting mix from on-farm materials, maintaining and gathering data from the heirloom vegetable field trials, beginning an heirloom seed-saving program, and assisting with farm tours.
